Has anyone seen the glass part of my recently acquired coffee press?
I last saw it as a complete unit yesterday morning on the glass/mug shelf in the kitchen, but now it appears that the glass container left.

Any information leading to the recovery of the aformentioned "glass piece" would be appreciated and may involve a reward of individual Cracklin' Oat Bran™ nuggets.

must-see TV!!!

The most engaging television I've watched in the past 32 days was the NCAA Division 1 Women's 3-Point Contest. If you ask, people will tell you how exciting it was to watch Katie Gearld's (Purdue) best Aaron Brooks (Oregon, the Men's champion) in the final. But for my money, the real championship was the semi-final, where Gearlds edged Caroline Williams of Vanderbilt. Normally I don't watch a lot of women's college hoops (i'm lying, i love it), but for a few moments I thought i was watching Craig Hodges vs. Detlef Schrempf - a throwback to the golden age of NBA All-Star weekend. My heart was with Williams, a bouncy, Hodges-like jump shooter. But fatigue led to her demise, opening the door for the Shrempf-esque, sharp shooting Gearlds to take the crown.

Strog's Picks: The Omelet Parlor

on a recent vacation in santa monica, california, my wife lynn and i happened upon perhaps the most perfect breakfast place in what the locals refer to as "SoCal". it's name? it's simple...THE OMELET PARLOR!!

no less than 45 seconds after walking onto the back patio (very tastfully decorated), our gracious server, Siobhan, offered us coffee or fresh squeezed orange juice. I chose both!!!!!

believe me when i tell you that we didn't wait long for turned out to be a delicious breakfast. my choice? THE MAIN ST. USA - 3 eggs over medium, turkey sausage, a health nut english muffin (with a side of apple butter), cottage cheese and pineapple!

breakfast was delicious, but when a lovely bird named Todd joined us at our table, we realized we'd DISCOVERED PARADISE!!!! he even tried some of lynn's breakfast potatoes! DELICIOUS!!!

oscars! party!

i just left an oscars party. i had been there 1.5 hours deep into the show and somehow managed to pick every category wrong on my ballot up to the point where i left.
i'm in awe of myself.

hats and magic!

last night i had a dream where my girlfriend and i were in a store called Hats & Magic. she was really into it. the store had two floors and there were christmas lights decorating the inside. i don't remember seeing any hats or magic. my girlfriend was upstairs and i told her that i'd meet her outside because i was bored. when i went out the back door, the security alarm went off.

Recently, I was speaking with an associate who grew up in the San Fernando valley. He told me that it was the porn capital of the world. I wondered if he often saw porn actors in diners, the bank, or at the grocery store. I asked him if that's how it was where he grew up. He said no, but that he would sometimes see them at the gym. He went on to say that they were often "buff guys with long ponytails."
